13 July 2023 - Bishoftu, Ethiopia: The IGAD Security Sector Program (IGAD SSP) has effectively conducted a Regional Follow-up Meeting on The IGAD Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) and Extradition Frameworks. The purpose of the meeting was to follow up on the recommendations of the previous efforts related to the accession, ratification, domestication, and implementation of the two IGAD conventions.

Ethiopia Federal and Regional Security Sector Officials gathered to Promote Interagency Cooperation and Coordination in Addressing TSTs
1 July 2023 - Bishoftu, Ethiopia: The IGAD Security Sector Program (IGAD SSP) has successfully kicked off a National Workshop for Ethiopia’s Federal and Regional Security Sector Officials to Promote Interagency Cooperation and Coordination in Addressing the Transnational Security Threats. The workshop is meant to enhance the interdepartmental cooperation among these institutions that are directly dealing with the various security threats that are prevalent in the country and beyond.
The Media on Reporting Security matters: Challenges and Implications in addressing Transnational Security Threats Trained
3 June 2023 – Bishoftu, Ethiopia: IGAD’s Security Sector Program (IGAD SSP) in close collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE), undertook a 2-days national training for Ethiopia’s media professionals on reporting security matters that include the challenges and implications of addressing transnational security threat on 1-2 June 2023.

17 May 2023 – Bishoftu, Ethiopia: IGAD’s Security Sector Program (IGAD SSP) in close collaboration with the Ministry of Justice of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE), undertook a 2-days high-level national workshop for Ethiopia’s law enforcement and criminal justice sector to enhance interagency cooperation and coordination to address the existing, emerging, and evolving transnational security threat on 16-17 May 2023.
